John Carpino
Singer and songwriter John Carpino was born and raised in Western Montana. He then moved to Colorado at the age of 18 where he began performing live in clubs and coffee houses as a solo acoustic act. He also studied music at Fort Lewis College in Durango, earning a BA degree in music education.
Though his talents are varied, John's first love is the art of songwriting. Over the years he has compiled a catalougue of songs which is both prolific and impressive. He cites his early songwriting influences as CSNY, Lennon and McCartney, Jackson Browne, John Hiatt, Bob Dylan and "many others... too many to mention".
John's performances are always well recieved as he is the most in-demand performer in his area, being voted "Best Entertainer" by the locals for 14 consecutive years! John has that special ability of creating and maintaining a mutual sense of enjoyment between audience and performer.
Recently, John has been performing with a high energy, five-piece rock band collectively known as "John Carpino and the Hot Cappuccinos". The Hot Cappuccino's perform a wonderful mix of classic rock, country rock, reaggae, motown and originals. John has recruited Rim Country's finest musicians - Deak Dietrich on lead guitar, Jeff Smith on drums, David Brooks on bass and Lu Carpino on keyboard, percussion and vocals. The combination is dynamic - an energenic, fun sound with an emphasis on strong vocals and harmonies.
John is continuing work on his new CD to be released "soon"! John currently resides in beautiful Payson, AZ
